Gloria Alarcón-García, PhD

PhD in Law and Professor of Applied Economics at the University of Murcia, specializing in public sector economics and taxation. She leads the Tax Observatory: Public Policy Analysis and coordinates Equallab and the Network of Gender and Public Policies. Her research focuses on gender budgetingtaxation and equality, and public policy evaluation.

She has collaborated with institutions such as the European Institute for Gender Equality (EIGE) and the Spanish Women’s Institute, and served as Vice-President of the Parliament of the Region of Murcia (2019–2023). A long-standing member of the European Gender Budgeting Network, she currently chairs the Forum of Feminist Politics and is a co-founder of the Feminist Assembly of the Region of Murcia.

Laura López Gómez, PhD

PhD in Economics from the University of Murcia (Spain). She is currently a lecturer in the area of Quantitative Methods for Economics and Business at the Technical University of Cartagena (Spain).

She specialises in applied quantitative methods. She has been a pre-doctoral researcher at the London School of Economics (UK) and a visiting professor at the Institute of European Studies at the University of Wroclaw (Poland). Her research focuses on the study of the impact of institutions, law and public administrations on economic development and the proper functioning of public policies, with a special focus on the EU and EMU.

Full Professor in Economic Policy at the University of Modena and Reggio Emilia (Unimore) (Italy). She is coordinator of the Gender Equity Lab in the Marco Biagi Foundation, funder and member of the Scientific Committee of IDEM-university spin-off on measuring gender equality in organizations. She is conducting research and publishing in the areas of discrimination by gender and sexual orientation, gender budgeting and policies evaluation, inclusive education and well-being (measurement and evaluation of the effect of public policies on different dimensions, in a gender perspective and in the capability approach).

Edgardo Arturo Ayala Gaytán, PhD

Edgardo Arturo Ayala Gaytán holds a PhD from Tulane University. His research has focused on behavioral economicseconomic development, and public policy. He has published more than 60 articles in indexed journals in economic developmentbehavioral, and gender economics.

Professor Ayala is a Level III member of Mexico’s National System of Researchers. He has received the National Public Finance Award (2016, 2022) and the Social Science Research Award granted by the Autonomous University of Nuevo León (UANL) (2009, 2020, 2022, 2024).

He led the UANL Economic Research Center and the Mexico–United States–Canada Studies Program of the Center for Strategic Studies at the Monterrey Institute of Technology. Professor Ayala is currently an associate professor at the UANL School of Economics.

José Daniel Buendía Azorín

I am a Full Professor in the Department of Applied Economics at the University of Murcia. I have served as Dean of the Faculty of Economics and Business and as Director of the Department of Applied Economics.

In the field of Research and Knowledge Transfer, I have led competitive projects and contracts and have an extensive scientific output (30 articles, 15 of which are indexed in JCR journals, 25 books, 18 book chapters, and 55 conference papers). I have been awarded four research evaluation periods (“sexenios”) and one knowledge transfer evaluation period. In the area of Teaching and Educational Innovation, I have been the Coordinator of the Teaching Innovation Group GiDEA since 2015. I have participated in 13 teaching innovation projects (five as principal investigator) and have supervised numerous academic works at all educational levels—doctoral, master’s, and undergraduate—including two Ph.D. theses, one bachelor’s dissertation, seven master’s theses, and thirty undergraduate final projects.

She holds a PhD in Occupational Safety and Health from the University of Porto, an MSc in Occupational Safety and Hygiene Engineering, and a degree in Environmental Health. Her research focuses on job design, human well-being, and human-centered workplaces (Industry 4.0 and 5.0), with publications in ergonomics, safety, and occupational health.

She has undertaken research at Radford University (Virginia, USA) and at the University of Castilla-La Mancha. She is Associate Professor of Quantitative Methods for Economics and Business in the Department of Mathematics and Data Science at Universidad San Pablo-CEU.

She has received several research awards for her work on volatility analysis and the application of discrete multicriteria decision-making methods.

Her main research interests include time series analysis, volatility, entrepreneurship, and gender studies.

Gulay Gunluk-Senesen, PhD

Gülay Günlük-Şenesen earned her BA (1978) and MA (1979) in Economics from Boğaziçi University and her PhD (1985) from Istanbul Technical University. She has worked in universities and research centers across Türkiye, the UK, and Europe and retired in 2023 as Professor of Public Finance at Istanbul University. She is a member of the European Gender Budgeting Network (EGBN) and has served on the editorial boards of Defence and Peace EconomicsEconomic Systems Research, and The Economics of Peace and Security Journal, among others. She has acted as a peer reviewer for UN Women and as an academic committee member for the World Bank on women’s employment in Türkiye, and served on the Scientific Advisory Board for the EU-funded LeTSGEPs project (2020–2023).

Carolina Herrera-Cano

Carolina Herrera-Cano is a third-year PhD researcher at the WiSE Centre for Economic Justice, Glasgow Caledonian University. She holds Master’s degrees in International Development (NMBU, Norway) and International Business (Universidad EAFIT, Colombia). With over ten years of teaching and consultancy experience for institutions such as UN Women, UNDP, and the IFC, her research focuses on feminist economics, gender equity, and unpaid care work, comparing perspectives from the Global South and North.

Her work has been published internationally and she has also advised multinational companies on diversity, equity, and inclusion.

Lucy Mackay

Lucy is a Lecturer in Law at Glasgow Caledonian University. Her research focuses on contemporary and historical issues of gender, violence and law in Scotland. Her doctoral research explores misogynistic harassment in public spaces, the harms this causes and potential legal solutions. Lucy is interested in exploring further the harms of this phenomenon, particularly in relation to the wider social and economic consequences.

Associate Professor of Architectural Composition. She has carried out research stays at the Laboratoire Architecture, Culture et Société of the École Nationale d’Architecture Paris-Malaquais.

She has published numerous research articles on History, Criticism, and Architectural Theory in journals indexed in various databases —Avery, Scopus, Arts and Humanities, SJR, etc.— and has participated in more than 50 national and international conferences, which have resulted in proceedings and book chapters.

Her work has been recognized in the Research Articles category at the XI Ibero-American Biennial of Architecture and Urbanism (2019) and the XV Spanish Biennial of Architecture and Urbanism (2021). Her research focuses on project-related issues linked to cultural sociology and the politics of creative contexts. She teaches courses such as Architectural Typologies, Avant-Garde and Architecture, Architectural Theory and Criticism, and Research Workshop at URJC.

Chair of the Scottish Human Rights Commission and Professor (Emeritus) of Equality and Public Policy at Glasgow Caledonian University (GCU). Her research focuses on gender budgeting and gender analysis in public policy, carried out within the WISE Centre for Economic Justice. A long-standing member of the UK and Scottish Women’s Budget Groups and the European Gender Budgeting Network, she previously held senior roles in civil society organisations such as Carers Scotland and Oxfam. As an academic activist, she continues to promote transformational change in public policy and resource allocation, bringing this approach to her teaching in the MSc in Human Rights and her work on human rights budgeting to advance equality and rights realisation.

María Rubio Aparicio, PhD, is a permanent lecturer at the University of Murcia, affiliated with the Department of Basic Psychology and Methodology in the Faculty of Psychology and Speech Therapy. Her research focuses on quantitative methods in psychology, with a particular specialization in meta-analysis and systematic reviews as tools for the synthesis of scientific evidence

She is the author of more than 45 scientific articles published in high-impact JCR journals, along with several book chapters and numerous presentations at national and international conferences. María actively participates in international research projects and collaborates with interdisciplinary teams to promote methodological rigorevidence-based practices, and the principles of open science in the behavioral and health sciences

Her academic activity combines research, teaching, and supervision of undergraduate and postgraduate students. She teaches courses in research methodology and statistics, maintaining a strong commitment to scientific integrity and the improvement of research reporting standards

Research Fellow and leader at WiSE, supervising ten PhD researchers. Her work focuses on gender and inequalitiesorganisations, and work, covering both paid employment and unpaid care. She has led projects on women in leadershipcorporate boards, and gender gaps in higher education, as well as flexible working policies and their unintended effects

Between 2015 and 2020, she was part of the UK team for the EU’s SAAGE expert group on gender equality, and her recent research explores care and care work for the UN and the Scottish Government. She is also involved in the Real Accounts project on financial uncertainty and currently leads a British Academy–funded study on same-sex couples and care arrangements
